Mosenergo has completed the introduction of a new data warehouse on Arenadata DB

2026: Implementation of Arenadata DB and Arenadata Streaming

PJSC Mosenergo has completed a project to implement a corporate data warehouse (QCD) based on domestic DBMSrenadata DB (ADB) and the Arenadata Streaming system (ADS), having completed the project in a short time. QCD replaced the solution of the foreign vendor Vertica. Arenadata (Arenadata Software) announced this on February 19, 2026.

As part of the import substitution and innovation strategy, Mosenergo launched in 2024 the project "Expansion of components and modules of the technological information system of Mosenergo PJSC - analytical reporting (STIM AO) and modernization of the processes of the operational information system (SOI) taking into account the requirements for import substitution." The solution is designed to collect, centrally store and process data on technical and economic indicators (TEI) on the operation of the company's facilities, generate reporting and transfer information to third-party organizations and related systems of Mosenergo PJSC.

The project had the following objectives:

• modernization of ESD and ESD SOM systems into ESD 2.0 SOM version;
• ensuring continuity of business processes falling within the scope of the project;
• expanding the composition of collected and available indicators for the formation of analytical reporting based on technological data from existing and new sources;
• expansion of the platform and transition to components from the register of domestic software.

The project was carried out in two stages. At the first stage, the following were performed:

• analysis of the existing IT landscape, the architecture of the ESD and ESD SIM systems, including application software and infrastructure;
• assessment of the possibilities of switching to domestic software;
• examination of the processes and tools of SDI and STIM JSC at the facilities of Mosenergo PJSC with clarification of business requirements;
• formation of the composition of replaced and replaced technologies from the Register of domestic software for each functional unit;
• development of technical solutions.

At the second stage, specialists from Mosenergo and the involved contractors prepared development, testing and production environments, carried out engineering work, implemented integration mechanisms, and also created a reporting subsystem and user interface (UI).

The following Arenadata software was selected and implemented as replacement technologies in the created system:

• solution for online messaging between Arenadata Streaming corporate information systems in terms of integration subsystem of ESD SIM 2.0;
• Arenadata DB DBMS as data storage and processing subsystem of ESD STM 2.0.

The system has been put into pilot operation and successfully serves key business processes: data collection, formation of hourly, daily and periodic reports, block sheet, 3-TYeKh reporting, as well as information transfer to related systems and third-party organizations. The system is actively used in the work of the planning and production service, information and dispatch center, fuel supply service and technical accounting groups of branches.

The implementation of the project ensured an increase in the collection of data on the production activities of Mosenergo PJSC, reduced the volume of manual input, accelerated decision-making based on up-to-date information and increased the transparency of reporting.

For February 2026, the project continues: Mosenergo is testing the Arenadata Catalog (ADC) enterprise data management system for cataloguing data in the ADB storage.
