On June 27, 2016 the Netapp company announced delivery of the NASA solution for storage and data protection.

The average amount of data which it is required to process - not less 4th petabyte of valuable information from satellites, cameras and telescopes. These data, crucial for decision making process, require fast processing and reliable storage. NASA addressed for the solution in Netapp company.

Information resource management of NASA tested the solution AltaVault and remained enough results.

Project Results

By means of AltaVault, NASA had an opportunity:

• Provide safe data storage – AltaVault is capable to provide data encryption as in flight, and at rest.
• Reduce costs and optimize cloud space - AltaVault became the solution which is not requiring payments of additional taxes, and the possibility of data compression allows to reduce storage costs.
• Integration into own interface – the space center has very difficult inner pattern in which the solution AltaVault is integrated without special obstacles.

The space agency NASA protects the data with the help of technologies of Netapp - the integrated cloud storage of AltaVault helps NASA to optimize online space and to reduce the costs connected with information storage.
