2017: Creation of an analytical system based on QlikView
NIPIGAZ company, to the general contractor of construction of industrial facilities, needed the solution on the QlikView platform to monitor processes of preparation of documentation, supply of materials and accomplishment of installation and construction works. These processes need to be compared during the project with resources and financing.
Need for the solution arose in connection with the beginning of construction of two large objects — the West Siberian Petrochemical Plant (ZSNH) and the Amur gas processing plant (AGPZ).
Premises and history of the project
On the building site NIPIGAZ company applies own technique of assessment of progress of construction to control of contractor relations and processes. This technique helps to break into tasks and to monitor progress in achievement of goals on each of project stages. Assessment of resources, determination of priorities and planning happens to the help of the solution Oracle Primavera.
The solution which would help NIPIGAZ to reduce costs for preparation of reports and to give to specialists of the company access to the current information on accomplishment of each of projects was required. Besides, automation of preparation of reports and quality control of data allow to reduce risks of receiving unreliable information.
Project Results
An analytical system obtains information on a current status of each task directly from a large number of Excel files and the ERP system. These data are compared with resources, plans and priorities from Oracle Primavera. The result in a schedule type is displayed on QlikView deshborda.
A number of the auxiliary applications performing preparation, check and unloading of data in the analytical application on QlikView is used.
Using means of QlikView the subsystem allowing to select is implemented and to quickly change data sources for calculations.
Tools are developed for identification of the errors arising either at data entry, or because of use of the incorrect Excel files format.
Transformation of data is organized layer-by-layer — data on different processing stages are stored and processed separately.
The analytical application allows to estimate an overall picture of the course of the construction project and to see parts of which it consists. About 20 sheets of QlikView with visual representation of the indicators reflecting progress of accomplishment of tasks and expenditure of resources are for this purpose developed.
Each of indicators on diagrams is presented in the form of the plan and the fact. It allows to see project implementation deviations from what was planned and also at once to find the reasons of discrepancies and to define contractors who are responsible for them.
The data model allows to scale quickly the number of information used by the solution — adding new sources or increasing depth of detailing of measurements.
