2020: Implementation of management of project production in the ERP system

On June 16, 2020 the Frontstep company reported that the ZVEZDA Scientific and production enterprise of G.I. Severin implemented management of project production along with serial and job order in a uniform ERP system. The combination of several types of production, the most difficult it of which is project, is characteristic of NPP ZVEZDA. The task of management of production processes different in essence was solved in a single system based on ERP CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine).

The type of project production process requires flexibility regarding management of all range of constructive and technology changes. Important feature of the project implemented on NPP ZVEZDA is the fact that in the ERP settings when implementing Orders controls by process as serial production, and developmental works are integrated.

For June, 2020 the turned-out experienced batch production is provided by the nomenclature from more than 500 names, in production base there are up to 140,000 detale-assembly units (DAU), in warehouses about 45,000 units of Inventories, from them 35,000 are placed in production warehouses. Therefore for production planning on NPP ZVEZDA on methodology of APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) approval of diverse requirements for individual structure of products of simultaneous consolidation of production of components under different orders is carried out. The functionality and convenience of using of a production scheduling system to the analysis and start of works orders is defining for users.

Some features of the implemented ERP solution:

• Product tree. One of features of the project is the special display form of comparison of structures of structure of products (plan/fact). The form allows to compare visually planned and actual structures of the made products and to quickly make necessary corrections. The Product Tree form was configured in ERP CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) in the form developed by specialists of NPP ZVEZDA in the "old" information system applied at the enterprise many years. The updated form reduced execution of operations of control and correction of structure of products for each new order.
• Project subjects and memos. Settings regarding formation of works orders with analytics of "project subjects" and "memos" on refining of options of execution of nodes and parts of orders became significant addition of a system. It allowed to consolidate the nomenclature of DSE in the produced lots and to save traceability of job order requirements. For the management of the enterprise summary report forms (the directive plan of production) with the drill down function allowing to analyze feasibility of orders in terms of security with purchased products, production of nodes of products and other resources are created.
• Operating plan and Fact. The production and dispatching department carries every day out the automated operational planning in the ERP system on APS. Then analyzes results, and at the end of the week transfers planned orders to the status approved with start in production in the next two weeks. For ensuring correctness of performing procedures of planning at the enterprise in strictly fixed terms an inspection of the fact of execution of orders for production is carried out.

As a result of permanent change of business planning processes and accounting of course of production, the following approaches and methods of management were implemented:

• management of Mechanical production is based on the basis of nomenclature release schedules of kits of parts and nodes according to diagrams of ERP CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine),
• timely completing and start of tasks of Assembly production for finishing transactions of finished product output of Orders is made,
• accounting of the performed works and formation of dresses of production personnel is conducted only according to the ERP system.

2016: System implementation of ERP CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine)

Post-project improvement of the ERP system of NPP Zvezda is caused by existence in business planning processes of production of elements of functionality of the previous software which in force for years of established practices could not refuse at once. The staff of the enterprise was trained for transition to the classical system of Synchronous planning and optimization (APS - Advanced Planning and Scheduling).

The Zvezda scientific and production enterprise of G.I. Severin – the developer of life support systems of high-rise flights and space researches, a survival equipment of crews and passengers at crashes of aircraft, the systems of refueling of airplanes fuel in flight. The directions of developments include space space suits, catapult chairs, means of abnormal escape of airplanes, life jackets and fire extinguishers. Yury Gagarin is the first person of the planet Earth who went to submit space, was cloud in a space suit of Zvezda and used the system of landing of Scientific Production Enterprise. The enterprise is included into holding of Rostec state corporation.

Important feature of production management on NPP Zvezda is the fact that at the same capacities both serial production, and experienced (Research and Development) is performed. The turned-out experienced batch production is provided by the nomenclature from more than 500 names, in production base is up to 80,000 detale-assembly units, in warehouses about 39,000 units of Inventories from them 30,000 are placed in production warehouses.

Implementation project of APS for solving of tasks of uniformity of loading, ensuring rhythm of production and synchronism of work of all divisions.

Earlier within works on ERP SyteLine implementation (the new name Infor CloudSuite Industrial) at the NPP Zvezda enterprise processes of purchases, warehousing and issue in production of materials and component parts then accounting of course of production is automated were automated. The final stage carried out automation of supply and sale in integration with available earlier at the software enterprise.

To solve a problem of adjustment and unification of NSI, specialists of Frontstep CIS company together with IT department of JSC NPP Zvezda developed a number of external software modules, so-called converters. The converter allows to perform joining of diverse databases and to obtain at the exit data in the format necessary for ERP.

The implemented System of synchronous planning and optimization (APS - Advanced Planning and Scheduling) as a part of the ERP system of SyteLine (Infor CloudSuite Industrial) puts the customer order in the center of all system business - planning, there is a synchronization of all transactions according to the material and production capacities necessary for order fulfillment precisely in the promised time. The principle of Just-In-Time is applied to optimization of the production schedule.

Iterative development of a system is implemented jointly by project teams of NPP Zvezda and "Frontstep CIS", upgradeable business processes:

Production:

• configuring and correction of structure of a product,
• automation system of project works (ASPW),
• intershop transfer of parts and assembly units (DSE),
• tree of structure of a product, form of comparison of structures.

Planning:

• formation of pick lists,
• analysis of resource shortage,
• scheduling,
• procedures of planning and statement of the tasks for production (TP),
• management of production warehouses,
• formation of the nomenclature plan,
• system of control indicators.

As a result of organizational engineering changes production will work only by a method of synchronous planning of APS.
