On April 18, 2019 it became known that Schneider Electric, the company in the field of energy management and automation, and the Norilsk State Industrial Institute signed the agreement on cooperation. Schneider Electric together with Polar branch of Norilsk Nickel will act as the partner in delivery and installation educational the equipment for Competence center based on NGII.

In laboratory the system of power management EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert which aggregates data on a distribution network of the organization and submits them via the intuitive web interface that allows to optimize the current distribution network will also be installed and to increase efficiency of personnel.
In the center training of bachelors in the Power Industry and Electrical Equipment and Automation of Technology Processes and Productions directions will be provided.
