2020: Use of the VisionLabs Luna platform for biometricheky identification
On October 13, 2020 the VisionLabs company reported that it became vendor of the service of remote biometric identification started by National Bank of Kazakhstan. A system is available to all financial institutions of the country: to banks, insurance companies, professional participants of security market, payment and to microfinance institutions. Now due to use of a sensing technology of persons clients will be able to receive financial services without visit of office or departments.
The project on creation of service of remote identification is implemented within the state program Digital Kazakhstan. An operator of a system is the child organization of National Bank — RGP "Kazakhstan Center of Interbank Settlements" (KCIS), and the mechanism of remote identification of clients will be performed by means of the center of exchange of identification data (CEID).
Using this service participants of financial market will be able to render remotely such services as opening bank accounts and deposits, release of payment cards, crediting. Customer interaction will pass through the website or mobile application of that organization in which it is serviced. For receiving service he makes a small video call lasting 3-5 seconds during which a system receives its facsimile, and enters the individual identification number. The acquired information goes to TsOID and is compared to the state database. Help define degree of similarity of two images – sent by the user and existing in base biometric solutions of several vendors. One of them – the platform of computer vision and video analytics of LUNA of VisionLabs company.
By means of neural networks LUNA Platform takes biometric templates from photos and compares them. Then gives the answer, the probability that on images the same person is how high. Accuracy of identification is reached regardless of additional attributes on a human face, an illumination level of the premises or resolution of the camera. On the basis of the received result financial institutions independently make the decision on establishment of business relations with the client.
The system of remote identification started in the pilot mode in April, 2020. During this time it allowed 11 banks of the second level to render to the population 2.8 million banking services. At the beginning of October, 2020 service is brought into commercial operation.
Remote service is especially important in the current epidemiological situation because clients will be able to receive most services without coming out the house and worldwide. Creation of the uniform mechanism of national scale will allow to transfer interaction between financial institutions and their clients to a convenient digital medium. We have already wide experience in solutions in similar projects — Dmitry Markov, the CEO of VisionLabs company noted. |
