On July 7, 2014 it became known of the project and implementation of engineering infrastructure for smooth operation of a cluster at the Mordovian state university of N.P. Ogarev. Works in the project were performed by CROC company.

Project Tasks

Within 5 years the university upgraded a university cluster from 0.3 teraflop to the 14th teraflop. Design and implementation of engineering infrastructure were carried out by CROC company. Works are performed in a short time.

"Scientific developments are one of main types of our activity. We conduct researches in the field of fundamental physics and the humanities and also we work on new technologies. For example, actively we develop environmentally friendly energy saving sources of optical radiation, materials and components for new generation of devices of radio engineering, optoelectronics, power electronics. Based on the university 19 innovation enterprises function, a part are participants of the Skolkovo center. Quickly to receive consistent results, and, therefore, to strengthen the authority of our scientific research, we need reliable engineering base for a computing cluster. The CROC company helped to create it" — Konstantin Leshchankin, the vice rector for informatization of the Mordovian state university of N.P. Ogarev told.
"It is the project we conducted in the conditions of the continuing building. Server it was created from scratch in the new building of the university, and it imposed restrictions: there were interruptions in electricity, and during the winter period work was complicated by the fact that it was necessary to perform installation at a zero temperature. To accelerate the term of implementation and to reduce risks when entering the supercomputer in operation, we went on a non-standard way. Parallel to creation of engineering infrastructure mounted and tested a cluster in the territory — in computing laboratory CROC. Thereby reduced work time for 30%" — Alexander Shirokov, the director of the department of intellectual buildings of CROC company noted.

Project Results

Within the project the power supply system of Socomec and a conditioning system of Stulz is created. The management of work centralized — by means of use of dispatching system. It helps to monitor failures and to eliminate them. Engineering solutions are redundant on a case of accidents and other force majeur circumstances.

During creation of engineering infrastructure requirements of the customer for interference protection, overvoltage, stability of temperature and humidity indoors are considered. A part of engineering works - implementation on several floors of academic buildings of the university of display systems. Up-to-date information about the diagram of training, educational structure, other useful data is displayed. Updating of content is centralized.
