2022: Introduction of EcoStruxure Asset Advisor on production

On February 18, 2022 the Schneider Electric company, reported that it established program obespechenieEcoStruxure Asset Advisor on production Nescafé Toluca in Mexico City. It allows engineers to monitor the state of their electrical equipment in real time, which allows them to remotely monitor important assets.

In 2013, Nestle increased the plant's production capacity by 40%, investing about 125 millions of dollars, as a result of which it became a soluble coffee enterprise in the world. Since the plant produces more than a million cans of coffee every day, preventing downtime is critical to Nestle's business.

Prior to the installation of Asset Advisor, plant maintenance was carried out on a reactive basis. During the year, there were eight unplanned episodes of shortages electric power that led to a decline in production, including a short circuit in the uncontrolled portion of the main substation that caused a 14-hour blackout and cost the company about $588,000. USA EcoStruxure allowed Nestlé to move to state maintenance, which allows teams to solve problems proactively in order to avoid expensive failures, the cost of which can reach $52,000 per hour.

"We understand the importance of the correct operation of important systems, as well as the fact that this is a prerequisite for production sites such as the complex in Toluca. By applying EcoStruxture, we aim to provide customers such as Nescafe with greater transparency, increased resilience and flexibility to improve their operational efficiency without additional costs and environmental pressures, "

"At a factory as large as Nestle Nescafe, ensuring the reliability of all electrical systems requires special involvement. We are implementing flexible and scalable digital solutions to increase response speed at all plants, and the transition to a partnership with Schneider Electric was a natural step, as we have already collaborated at our production sites in France and Switzerland. Since installation, EcoStruxure Asset Advisor has allowed us to anticipate and fix problems before they become critical, which has spared costly downtime, significantly increased the ability to respond quickly to changing demand and ultimately improve the quality of service to our customers and reduce the carbon footprint. "
