About Novaya Liniya Ltd company
National network of decorative and construction hypermarkets in Ukraine. At the moment openly 14 shopping centers in 11 cities of Ukraine with a total area more than 250,000 square meters. The range of goods contains more than 100,000 names. In 2008 the sales volume of the company was more than 2.2 billion hryvnias.
Project Tasks
Implement a new analytical system which allows to receive and analyze quickly data on sales, profitability and goods turnover rate that is the important tool for acceptance of management decisions in Novaya Liniya Ltd.
Customer Feedback on the Project
Dmitry Romanchenko, Chief information officer of Novaya Liniya Ltd: Scales of our company are like that that when we tell "data on sales" - it is hundreds of millions of lines of data and tens of gigabytes of information. With respect thereto, earlier our analysis department was forced to use the aggregated (summary) data on the periods, commodity groups and t of. Such approach allowed to do a number of necessary reports, but was very labor-consuming, insufficiently flexible and did not give the chance to flexibly analyze directly this (checks) of the most bottom level. With respect thereto, the offer of RBC Group company on creation of a corporate analytical system on the QlikView platform was apprehended by us with great interest. In parallel we considered Cognos BI and Business Objects, but advantages of the QlikView system were obvious – because instead of OLAP in it more modern in-memory technology is used, its implementation was several times faster (so and less expensive), besides, its power allows to analyze our data, up to checks and transactions without creation of the data warehouse. Actually, we received not just the system of the analytical reporting, and the powerful tool for decision support, capable for read seconds to provide both the strategic overview of a situation, and detailed information on sales of a specific position in any shop. Actually it is difficult to tell about impressions of system operation – it needs to be seen. In the long term – systematic development and creation of applications and reports new analytically as the more we master QlikView – the more we see new opportunities for its application.
