The mobile application "Maintenance" for automation of maintenance processes was put into industrial operation at the Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) in July 2020.

The application takes into account the peculiarities of information flows of the equipment inspection and maintenance process:

  • large directories data (equipment, equipment parts, technical objects, operations, instructions)
  • lack of internet connection at some facilities of production sites need to monitor the safety of mobile devices
  • The need for fast data processing

In the maintenance application, the specialist of the repair department receives a task indicating the object and instructions for its maintenance. On site - reads the radio mark (the system automatically detects equipment), records equipment defects in the electronic log, performed operations and time. The application sends data to the system to update the object status information. If required - equipment status parameters, registration of defects in the electronic log, attachment of photos of defects to the order - can be done manually. The mobile application contains the schedule and route of the tour for each employee, messages about equipment defects, equipment status history (previous indicators: operating time, vibration, temperature, etc.). In the mobile application, the heads of repair departments receive reports on bypasses, inspections and repairs, monitor the work of employees.

Result

According to the results of the international audit, EVRAZ NTMK is recognized as one of the leading world-class companies, including through the use of the mobile application "Maintenance." The application employs 1,500 employees.

Implementation of the application has helped to achieve the following results:

  • Reduce the number of emergency equipment stops.
  • Improve the quality and reliability of information about the process of bypass/inspection, equipment repair.
  • Improve reliability of equipment status information.
  • Provide control of executive discipline during the workarounds, while simplifying the process of entering data into the system for the master.
  • Optimize the load of repair personnel by detailing the labor costs for each type of work.
  • Ensure timely decision-making on maintenance by obtaining accurate information on equipment condition.
