The Nordea Bank upgrades the infrastructure platform the solution of IBM

The TopS BI company completed the project of creation of the infrastructure platform for the automated banking system of JSC Nordea Bank. At the heart of the solution a product of IBM company - IBM Power 595.

Solution

Replacement of the automated banking system was required for bank, but before replacing the core banking system, it was necessary to create the reliable hardware-software platform. Project implementation is entrusted to TopS BI company, Arkady Zatulovsky, the Chief information officer of Nordea Bank noted.

Specialists of TopS BI suggested to create the failsafe platform for the core banking system based on RISC- servers IBM Power 595 which allow to unroll the most cost-efficient and flexible IT infrastructure, at the same time providing the high performance of applications and speed of deployment of new services.

The used servers are united in a cluster of high availability using IBM PowerHA software. The created configuration is configured under opportunities of computing resources on demand (Capacity on Demand) for automatic connection of inactive resources of a standby server in case of failure of a primary server. On a case of failure servers were connected to the system of the automatic notification of technical support of IBM.

The storage system virtualized by means of a hardware-software complex of IBM SAN Volume Controller allows to save copies of the most critical data on the remote platform. Specialists of TopS BI also organized a backup system of data on virtual tape library with the subsequent data migration on physical tape media for a possibility of storage on the remote platform. The backup system is unrolled using software of IBM Tivoli Storage Manager. Besides, on a basis a blade servers of IBM JS23 infrastructure of development and testing is created.
