Nordplast (1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse)

In March, 2006 the Dialog Information Technologies company started the project on automation of work of a warehouse complex of Nordplast Ltd company - one of the leading suppliers in the market of children's toys, and in July, 2006 successfully completed it. Within the project the solution "is implemented by 1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse" on the 1C: Enterprise 8.0 platform - joint development of AXELOT company and 1C Company.

The Nordplast company is the largest producer of plastic toys for children from 1 to 9 years. Production areas, including own warehouses – 16000 sq.m. The warehouses servicing a full stroke of production are located in one building, but separated on floors: raw-material storage and materials, warehouse of semi-finished products, finished goods warehouse.

On a decision instant about implementation of a single system of management of a warehouse in the company the management of Nordplast Ltd was interested in elimination of the problems connected with big losses of goods, regrading, excessively big search time of goods in a warehouse at acceptance and placement. Besides, production volumes gradually increased that pushed to transfer of warehouses to round-the-clock operation.

As the solution the software product "1C: Enterprise 8.0 was selected. 1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse" which profitable differed from similar products in ample opportunities of the 1C: Enterprise 8.0 platform and rather low implementation cost. For the choice of the company capable to implement the selected system, the tender which the Dialog IT company thanks to progressive technology of implementation, experience in the market and to presence of the certified specialists won was held.

The main objective of the project – increase in efficiency of a warehouse complex - was reached thanks to completeness of information collected by specialists of Dialog IT on preproject inspection and the conceptual design which is competently made by them, precisely built system architecture. It is also necessary to note qualification of the programmers who quickly implemented all deviations from a standard configuration "1C: Enterprise 8.0. 1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse".

After implementation in a warehouse losses of goods and regrading decreased, the accuracy of accounting of the stored goods increased, time for transactions of acceptance, placements and selection of goods was reduced. There was a possibility of carrying out inventory without stopping of a company performance. Important advantage of work with use of a new system was the fact that requirements to skill level of warehouse workers significantly decreased that, in turn, will affect costs.

Now a system is in the mode of commercial operation, completion of functionality of a system and support is performed by employees by forces of department of IT of Nordplast Ltd. A number of completions on expansion of standard functionality of a system, concerning warehouse transactions is planned: "feed", "automatic placement of goods in the storage area" and other. In the nearest future to a system it is going to connect the modern warehouse equipment – scanners of a barcode and radio data collection terminals.
