IBS developed the uniform principles of work with MTR for Norilsk Nickel

2019: Unification of an array of credentials

On October 22, 2019 the IBS company announced project completion on unification of an array of credentials of material resources of Norilsk Nickel company.

Key business processes of Norilsk Nickel company are based on work with the material resources (MR). For providing different production tasks reference book cuts with credentials are conducted by different divisions of PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC. At the same time the single system of methodology of determination of a type of MTR in the company was not, the large volume of records was stored without indication of this characteristic.

With respect thereto PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC should develop techniques of determination of types of MTR and classes of assessment for entries in the reference book of MTR of an ACS of NSI and also to unify data according to techniques for an opportunity to automate processes of filling of data and ensuring correct accounting of material resources.

Importance of creation of a technique consists in an opportunity to keep correct account of material resources for the purposes of determination of operating and capital expenditure (OPEX and CAPEX). This technique was developed on the basis of normative and methodical documents of the company and is connected with the qualifier of MTR developed by IBS company. At an institution MTR it allows to define at once how this MTR will be considered,

As the technology partner of PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC on standardization of data of MTR the IBS company acted. Project implementation began on January 1, 2018. The data bulk became its specific feature. For creation of uniform methodological approach to classification and accounting it was necessary to process them and to analyze all array of the reference book of MTR by credentials.

The project affected 18 divisions of Norilsk Nickel company among which GO is PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC, Polar branch PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC, JSC Normetimpeks, JSC Kola MMC and others. The following objects were set for specialists of IBS: develop methodology of determination of a type of MTR and classes of assessment, to finish and verify content of an ACS of NSI (classes, templates, records MTR). The project was implemented less than in 12 months.

During the project IBS command:

  • are developed and approved between all platforms: a technique by types of MTR and a technique on assessment classes;
  • are created: the table of a mepping on the purchased products and the table of a mepping on self-produced products;
  • the type of MTR for records of the reference book of MTR is put down and unified;
  • offers on change of classes of assessment for KGMK are created;
  • training in rules and methods of determination of a type of MTR and class of assessment more than 50 users — curators of platforms and experts of NSI is provided;

Successful project implementation by the IBS command allowed to unify a large number of data of MTR of the main divisions of Group according to techniques. It helped to avoid duplication of data, to provide compatibility of the reference information and documentation that increased quality of processing and the analysis of credentials. Now within all enterprises of Norilsk Nickel company uniform techniques of determination of a type of MTR and Classes of assessment work. Development of such vision, uniform for Group, led to growth of efficiency of our business processes,
