OT-OIL and Norilskgeologiya increased quality of forecasting and identification of ore fields

OT-OILNorilskgeologiyaNorilsk Nickel Kompanii " and (MMC) completed at the beginning of 2018 the works on creation and implementation of an information system for quality improvement of forecasting and identification of fields ore useful minerals due to involvement of all accumulated geological information and cutting of costs for its search and processing.

High labor costs of geologists of Norilskgeologiya LLC when processing criteria of a rudonosnost and when calculating the forecast areas are connected, first of all, with processing of the arriving results of search and auditing assessment works of commercial deposits of solid minerals and the analysis of archive information.

The OT-OIL company proposed the following solution of these tasks:

  • organize electronic archive of geologic-geophysical information, having unified access to all data sources and file archives through a set of cards of documents;
  • organize the corporate search allowing to provide the unified search in electronic archive of geologic-geophysical information;
  • implement the module of automatic calculation of forecast indicators taking into account space criteria;
  • to integrate corporate search and forecast calculation for the user in his Personal Account, having ensured continuous functioning in a single window.

Within the project specialists of the company "OT-OIL performed works on deployment of IT solution on the Platform the ATOLL functioning on OpenSource technologies and which set of ready functionality allowed to receive the following results:

  • the description of data domain – document types and data with which Norgeologiya LLC operates is created;
  • all data sources and file archives are indexed that allowed to provide full text, attributive and space data retrieval in all sources and in all files;
  • any information is visualized through a document card with viewing contents (including specialized: SHP and GeoTIFF);
  • all space data are visualized on the card by cartographic service- ESRI ArcGIS;
  • service of creation of regional and local forecasts of a rudonosnost.

Curator of the project from Norilskgeologiya Sitnikov Valery: "At the moment in Norilskgeologiya the large volume of different materials based on GRR is saved up. Project implementation allowed to involve all heated information in process of forecasting of a rudonosnost and to lower load of geologists due to providing the instrument of work with documentation of geological archive".
The project manager from OT-OIL Alexey Akulkin: "Bilateral integration with cartographic service ESRI ArcGIS became feature of the project that allowed not only to provide access to archive of information, but also to provide a possibility of data preparation in a format, usual for users. Thanks to active participation of the Customer in the course of execution of works it was succeeded to provide formalization of a technique in the shortest possible time and to implement the mechanism of calculation of the forecast areas. Besides, deadlines of the project managed to be sustained at the expense of the high level of centrality of already available data of GRR that allowed to exclude a stage of collecting of archive information".
