2020: System implementation of the remote automated condition monitoring of rechargeable batteries
On November 11, 2020 it became known that at the Novokuybyshevsk plant of oils and additives the BMS CyberPower system is implemented.
The remote automated condition monitoring of rechargeable batteries in arrays of the industrial systems of uninterruptible power supply was always topical issue and the pandemic did not add importance to this task. The rechargeable battery in itself was and remains a weak link in a system, requiring constant control. System implementation of automatic control and control of rechargeable batteries at the Novokuybyshevsk plant of oils and additives (NZMP) first of all allowed to refuse expensive systematic departures of engineers on an object for performing diagnostics. And also gave the chance to receive results more than once in a month or quarterly, and in real time. The example of NZMP confirms: such automation on the industrial systems of uninterrupted power quickly pays for itself.
NZMP represents the large-capacity multi-profile enterprise with one and a half hundred names of products; own testing laboratory accredited in the National accreditation system is even built in structure of the plant. For reasons of decrease in labor input of control and measuring processes and increase in fault tolerance of work of an APCS of a complex it was necessary to ensure continuous functioning of the industrial control system at the enterprise. In other words — to construct a remote control system and monitoring of all solution components of the guaranteed power supply, including an array of rechargeable batteries.
As such solution NZMP selected the three-phase systems CyberPower. 120 kVA were in total put into operation: UPS HSTP3T30KE two and four HSTP3T15KE, each UPS it is completed with an external battery office (in total 160 pieces of JSB RV12-12 and 40 pieces of RV 12-55). For management of battery arrays it is unrolled BMS CyberPower as a part of the controller of collecting and processing information of BM l00 and BP100-12V sensors placed on rechargeable batteries. All balancing and commissioning, setup of the equipment and commissioning were carried out in the first half of 2020.
Reliability augmentation of a system of uninterrupted power of production lines due to continuous step-by-step monitoring of battery arrays became result of implementation of such system. In 2020 the solution acquired additional relevance due to the need of transfer to remote work of a part of employees.
BMS CyberPower allows to control all necessary parameters automatically in real time, notifying on aberrations — the chief power engineer of NZMP A.I. Takmakov says. — Battery sensors control temperature, tension and internal resistance of each rechargeable battery. In the mode of a subcharge of joint stock bank regulate tension for the purpose of its alignment between all consistently switched on accumulators, preventing a recharge and premature degradation of everyone of joint stock bank, increasing, thereby, the general stability and service life of a battery array in general". |
Of special value the fact that CyberPower does not become attached to a specific brand of joint stock bank and the UPS which monitoring is made by this system is for potential customers of BMS. Moreover, the BMS installation on old arrays of rechargeable batteries at once reveals an evident picture of their status that gives the chance timely to make the decision on their complete or partial replacement, simplifies long-term planning of the budget and allows to avoid unforeseen large expenses.
Always it is important to have near at hand well-tried smart remedy of diagnostics of joint stock bank not only for the industrial systems of uninterrupted power, but also for all customers operating powerful UPSes including with external battery cabinets.
