Investment purchases regarding the equipment require the choice of the optimal technological solution and an accurate adherence to deadlines of delivery. It is always the involvement of a large number of employees into process at all stages of works. All this requires the maximum transparency and control for adoption of operational solutions, - Dmitry Shklyar, the senior manager of Accenture says.

According to him, earlier all work on purchases was conducted mainly using Excel, Outlook and SAP SRM. Data from the different systems gathered manually, there were delays and errors in communication.

We managed to create the uniform tool for difficult process of CapEx of purchases, to develop templates of approval of technical and commercial requirements, to design and implement the necessary reporting, to make the most transparent all procurement cycles for adoption of operational solutions, - Dmitry Shklyar explains.

Creation of an information system for processes of preparation of the project documentation, the choice of suppliers and purchases of a difficult production equipment took less than 8 months. During this time the team of experts of Accenture and NLMK created uniform IT the tool for communication of the heads, analysts, the project organizations, suppliers and category managers who are responsible directly for equipment procurement.

A large number of participants with the most different tasks is involved in investment equipment procurements. We with specialists of Accenture developed a common information space for their interaction. A convenient platform which including allows to compare technical proposals of suppliers, to consider results of already carried out stages, to store documentation and data on our projects, to integrate them with the ERP system — Pavel Sverchkov, the development director of supply of NLMK notes.

The project is implemented on the SAP Ariba Sourcing platform. It is a cloud system, it allows to implement project approach to carrying out difficult purchases in practice, to provide management of suppliers of base, to monitor implementation of CapEx of projects, to analyze technical proposals from the market and to plan capital costs of the enterprise.
