On the morning of January 31, 2022, the electronic services of the government of the Novosibirsk region were subjected to a powerful DDoS attack. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the regional administration.
According to the Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the region Sergey Tsukar at an operational meeting with Governor Andrei Travnikov, the situation was stabilized, but short-term interruptions in the medical information system and call center 122 are possible. Specialists of the Ministry of Digital Affairs of the region are working to eliminate problems, said Tsukar. According to him, the power of DDoS attacks reached 10-12 Gb/s. Who is behind this cyber attack is not specified.
This is complicated by the fact that Monday morning is the most peak in load time and, while the attack is difficult to filter. The information has been communicated to the authorized bodies, together with the telecom operator, the traffic that is being filtered as part of the attack is being conducted. We will monitor, further repel the attacks, "said Andrei Travnikov on January 31, 2022. |
The problem is exacerbated by the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus-infected COVID-19 in the Novosibirsk region. On January 31, 2022, 634 cases of infection were registered, compared to 579 a day earlier. This is a record high incidence for the region.
DDoS attacks occurred on the eve of the transition of the Novosibirsk region to a new number of the unified registry - 122 will replace 124 (from February 1, 2022). Sergei Tsukar at the end of January 2022 announced his technical readiness for the transition process.[1]
