Britain's largest Internet hypermarket Ocado launches first robot warehouses in Asia

On July 10, 2023, Britain's largest Internet hypermarket Ocado announced the launch of Asia's first robotic warehouse. The partner in this project was the Japanese corporation Aeon.

The warehouse, or Customer Service Center (CFC) as Ocado calls it, has begun accepting orders from customers in the Kanto region for Aeon's "Green Beans" brand. It is said that Ocado signed a contract with Aeon as a partner in 2019 in a deal that assumes that by 2030 the volume of online sales of stores of the Japanese group will be about 600 billion yen ($4.26 billion at the rate of July 11, 2023), and by 2035 - 1 trillion yen.

The service will offer customers an assortment of products of approximately 50 thousand items. The delivery function is provided within one hour. Aeon's second customer service center will be based in Hachioji - a central city located in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
