NFWare Virtual Load Balancer will protect Odnoklassniki from DDoS of the attacks

The social network Odnoklassniki entering into Mail.ru Group holding implemented the solution of the resident of an IT cluster of Skolkovo Foundation of NFWare company for balancing of traffic. The product NFWare Virtual Load Balancer will help Internet service to increase network performance up to 40 times and to improve protection against DDoS of the attacks. Capacity makes hundreds of gigabits per second.

The balancer of loading carries out traffic distribution tasks from users between servers and provides fast request processing of users. Other its important task is protection against DDoS of the attacks. On the high-loaded projects, such as Odnoklassniki, the enormous volume of traffic is the share of function of balancing, and it creates the requirement for performance and smooth operation of network solutions.

Main advantage of NFWare technology is a program implementation of network services on the basis of the concept of NFV (virtualization of network functions) at which the solution is provided in the form of the software working on standard servers and Linux instead of the expensive specialized equipment. Such approach allows to reduce costs for infrastructure and to increase flexibility of network.
