The Yandex.Gas service entered the Turkish market by concluding a cooperation agreement with the local company Opet (it develops one of the largest fuel networks in the country). This was announced on September 29, 2021.
The process of contactless refueling in Turkey differs from the usual one for Russian motorists. Firstly, you do not need to indicate a column, since at Turkish gas stations they are not always numbered. Secondly, before the first refueling, you need to enter the phone and car number - this is the standard requirement of the networks when remotely paying for fuel. Then the driver calls the tanker the type of fuel, the required volume or amount, and after the completion of the refueling - pays for it in the application.
At the Opet gas station, you can pay for fuel in Yandex.Gas stations built into the Turkish version of Navigator. About 4 million drivers use this application every month. The Opet network accounts for about 15% of gas stations in Turkey - this is about 1.7 thousand objects. Yandex will promote the service in Turkey using cannons and banners, and the partner will promote the service at its gas stations.
We believe that contactless fuel payment may be in demand in foreign markets. We started with Turkey because we know Yandex well there, but we plan to study other countries, "said Anatoly Kamynin, head of the international direction of Yandex.Gas Stations. |
According to him, by the end of September 2021 in Russia with the Yandex service. Gas stations "are used by about 1 million drivers, refueling about 4.5 million times a month.
The company monetizes Prospector according to the same model as in Russia: for example, it uses branded labels on routes or banners. Earlier, Yandex added to the Turkish version of the Alice application. This was also the first time the company translated a voice assistant into another language.[1]
