Panasonic System Solutions Japan will deploy a "local 5G system" at the Osaka Gas Himeji plant, which is responsible for the production of gas for domestic use. Starting in March 2022, the corporation will gradually supply network equipment and base stations for 5G. Demand for local multiservice networks in the industrial sector is constantly growing, as this technology increases the speed of rapid emergency response and ensures the safety of workers through remote monitoring and collection of information about their location. In addition to emergency situations in the industrial sector, the issues of labor optimization (the ability to carry out work with a smaller number of employees - due to the aging population) and the transfer of know-how became equally acute.

The multi-service network ("5G local system") built at the plant in Himeji will not only improve operations, but also reduce operating and management costs. In September 2020, Panasonic already installed a wireless broadband access system at the Osaka Gas Senboku plant, designing a network taking into account the special environment of the enterprise.
