OTIS in Russia changes old ERP for corporate Infor

The Otis Russia company completed transfer of the plant in St. Petersburg on a new ERP system based on Infor ERP LN (Baan 6.1). GMCS acted as integrator of the project.

As Lyudmila Sokolskaya specified TAdviser, the director of the department of solutions of Infor of GMCS company, before at the Otis plant in St. Petersburg for management of production processes and also was used by purchases and inventory accounting the Prodstar system. It is the ERP system of the French vendor, according to TAdviser, set at the enterprise still in 90e years.

Actually, unification of corporate infrastructure Otis as Infor ERP LN is the standard for the producer of the lift equipment worldwide was the main task of the ERP project.

At Otis Rossiya three production sites and 45 divisions in the large cities. It is reported that not only two other enterprises, in Shcherbinka (Moscow area) and directly in Moscow, but also the enterprises of the company in Ukraine also will are transferred to Infor ERP LN. At the same time, for example, the plant in Shcherbinka not so long ago (in 2007) completed the project of creation the ERP system based on the solution Microsoft XAL. Obviously, further will refuse it.

At the St. Petersburg enterprise "Otis Russia" the project started in 2008. In addition to managers Otis and GMCS also took part in it consultants of the French office Infor and the CSC company which is engaged in support of technical infrastructure of the Otis enterprises in Europe.

As a result the developed ERP solution automated all key business processes: production, purchases, sales, a warehouse and also finance, accounting in production and the movement of materials, finished goods according to all standards. It is reported also that a system was improved.

At the moment at the St. Petersburg enterprise "Otis" a system is in commercial operation. Within further development of the Otis project together with GMCS is going to perform implementation at the plant in St. Petersburg of one more system module – "Products configurator" and also to unroll Infor ERP LN in the service center "Otis" in Moscow.

Investments into the project and the number of the purchased licenses of the party do not open. In Russia Otis occupies about 27% of the market of sales of the new hoisting-and-transport equipment. In 2007 turnover of the company made $327 million.
