2018: Implementation of Informatica Dynamic Data Masking

The DIS Group company announced on June 13, 2018 implementation by VimpelCom company (a brand Beeline) the software solution Informatica Dynamic Data Masking (DDM). It is supposed that the solution will become the additional measure providing protection of sensitive, personal and confidential data against leak and unauthorized access without damage of speed and to quality of work with business systems.

The solution allows to hide and block information — instead of personal data the employee will see only asterisks in the corresponding line or will not be able to get access to these data at all. Thanks to Informatica DDM the amount of confidential information which is seen by the user depends not only on his role in the organization, area of responsibility, existence of access rights to the database, but also on the corresponding parameters of security, types of applications from which the user addresses data and also the rules of masking configured for each field of the specific table.

The product Informatica Dynamic Data Masking is installed in the form of gateways between databases and business applications through which access is provided to them. The solution provides dynamic masking, but at the same time does not change an original informatin, does not influence work of production or unproductive environment. Response time on a request in the database protected using Informatica DDM does not exceed response time at the current requests, explained in DIS Group. Management and administration of all configured rules of masking is performed via the clear DDM Console Management interface.

This excellent addition to all used procedural, hardware and software tools of security in the company — Denis Molotkov, the Head of Department of support systems of business said VimpelCom. — Informatica DDM allows to automate process of masking of data when online access to a system is technically necessary or it is necessary to trace and collect preventively all statistics on the addressing data.

2017: Pilot start of Informatica Dynamic Data Masking

VimpelCom estimated possibilities of the solution Informatica Dynamic Data Masking (DDM) during pilot start in July, 2017. Testing also confirmed compatibility of Informatica DDM with the key systems managing user data and effective masking of data regardless of at what level there is an interception of a request — Repository, Proxy, Application, Client, reported in DIS Group company.
