Prof-IT Group increased production efficiency for Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant

On April 24, 2019 Prof-IT Group reported that his specialists together with Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant implemented the project based on IoT- platforms PTC ThingWorx. The solution brings together data from assets UAZ in the online mode, helping to increase production efficiency and to reduce unplanned idle times.

Earlier Ulyanovsk automobile the plant announced Digital UAZ start of implementation of the concept. The project of monitoring of production and control of the equipment using industrial Internet things became a part of the strategy of development of digital production. A main objective of implementation IIoT at Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant - ensuring necessary level of production with maximum efficiency and minimum loss. For this purpose it was required to increase transparency of production, for the realization account of collection of data on work of assets online without participation of the person.

The IIoT-solution is unrolled within the section of laser-beam cutting which is a part of press production UAZ. Here 80 different types of parts, up to 260,000 products annually are issued. Section is equipped with two robotic complexes and to the project functioned 24х7 without days off, such operation mode prevented to perform qualitatively works on maintenance and scheduled repairs of the equipment.

Thanks to the created solution specialists of the enterprise can collect data and carry out expanded analytics about work of section and a status of assets. Data transmission about different parameters of the robotic equipment happens online.

As a result of implementation we provided transparency of important section of production. To the project our service received limited data types, reports at the same time formed a post factum. Smarts assets require smart support. Our customer uses the modern equipment – a part of key production processes of the plant is robotic therefore we naturally approached use of technologies of industrial Internet of Things. Business effects of similar projects become obvious already several weeks later after start. At this stage passes test of the solution. Increase in development, increase in effective management of risks and cost reduction of production will become potential project deliverables. According to the results of implementation the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant will be able to provide increase in productivity of section of laser-beam cutting – will reduce operating time with simultaneous preserving of production volumes that will allow to release more time for regular surveys and maintenance of the equipment.

In project perspectives integration with a MES system and Teamcenter, 3D - visualization and creation of model of predictive analytics. The saved-up data will help to define patterns in operation of the equipment, to predict possible anomalies and thus to reduce housekeeping overheads and repair of assets.
