2020: Preparing for the Cloud Transition

On December 16, 2020, the Krayon company announced the preparation of the transition to cloud technologies of the Panorama TV publishing house.

In the context of the transfer of employees to the remote mode of the Panorama TV publishing house, there was a need to provide access to remote work tools.

Crayon specialists were tested to assess the readiness of the Panorama TV publishing house infrastructure for the transition to Microsoft cloud technologies, develop recommendations for the implementation of digital transformation and increase the efficiency of investments in information technologies.

Among the problems faced by the employees of the Publishing House during remote work were named:

• violation of internal communications;
• difficulties in organizing audio-video conferencing;
• difficulties in ensuring the proper level of information security.

Most of the employees remotely connected to their office computers using home PCs. Non-centralized means of communication were used for interaction. This process was significantly inferior in terms of security to current approaches to remote work using Microsoft products.

Crayon specialists conducted an inventory of the IT infrastructure of the Panorama TV publishing house. Based on the data obtained, recommendations were developed for migrating to the Microsoft 365 cloud environment and migrating workplaces to the Azure cloud platform.

For the Panorama TV publishing house, an assessment of readiness for migration to the cloud was carried out, a roadmap for such a transition was developed, and recommendations were drawn up to replace outdated software with more relevant one.

The use of cloud solutions will allow the customer to:

• Improve resiliency and security of business systems and data
• increase the overall level of productivity of the company;
• Minimize the impact of events that could disrupt workflow continuity
• Use Microsoft Business Solutions.

The IT strategy for the development of Panorama TV publishing house involves the creation of a hybrid infrastructure with a consistent abandonment of local servers and the transition to the use of cloud services.

A key transformation will be the introduction of virtual desktops (Windows Virtual Desktop) and Microsoft 365 cloud products that help improve employee efficiency and security.

In other words, an employee from his home computer will have access to all the necessary tools that will allow him to continue to perform his tasks efficiently.
