The cloud hosting provider ActiveCloud by Softline (Aktivkhost RU LLC) completed the project of creation of a failover cluster in "cloud" for the automated bank solution of Payment systems company (NKT group). The solution allowed to receive the ready platform for the online project on creation of bank cards with individual design.

Task

On intersection of the latest technologies and individual approach to customers there was a new project of the company on creation of plastic cards with the personified design for clients of banks. The software giving ample opportunities on creation and modification of appearance of cards in the online mode – from drawing any image of the customer (including personal photos) before use of transparent materials, holographic elements, figured sawn-off shotguns and use of materials with tactile effect was developed for this project.

In addition it was required to construct scalable infrastructure on which the solution will be located, to provide its fault tolerance, secure remote access, high speed and independence of communication channels. Proceeding from project requirements, specialists of Payment systems company made the decision on placement of an automated system in "cloud".

Solution

"For so large-scale project questions of uninterrupted operation and performance are crucial therefore we very seriously approached the choice of cloud provider, – the project manager of Payment systems company Vladimir Strugovets notes. – The choice took place in several stages: at first we sent technical specifications to several providers, compared their offers and requested a demo access for real job evaluation of a cloud system. Besides, the key project requirement was providing system availability at the level of 99.95%. Our clients – the largest Banks of Russia and the CIS therefore the automation and availability of services supported with financial guarantees became the most important criteria when choosing provider. According to the results of the comprehensive analysis of offers the decision on signing of the contract with ActiveCloud by Softline company was made".

"Very serious and ambitious problem was set for us, – the deputy CEO for information technologies of ActiveCloud by Softline company Ruslan Raykevich says. – It was required to create the platform deprived of failure points which would provide the highest level of reliability, scalability and security of infrastructure of the client. And the task was carried out".

At the heart of a cloud solution of Payment systems company there are two clusters with the balancer of loading and mirroring of data in real time. They provide uninterrupted operation of work of service as in case of failure of one of machines of the main cluster its loading is instantly undertaken by the similar machine from reserve infrastructure. The monitoring system allowing to monitor work of crucial services in the online mode which provides notifications in case of exceeding of threshold values was in addition implemented. The control panel allows to create the schedule of reservation of data (including the possibility of incremental reservation is supported), ensuring their complete safety.

Opinion

"We completely accepted project implementation: no problems with access and performance arise, – Vladimir Strugovets continues. – The service for modeling of design of plastic cards promptly gains popularity, among advantages not only an image component, but also the increased security (the owner's photo on a reverse side of the card will significantly reduce risk of use by undesirable persons). Load of servers, certainly, will grow. And it began an additional incentive to select the solution with scalable resources".
