AstroSoft completed creation of a corporate portal for Piterra company. The project is implemented on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 platform.
Developers AstroSoft were faced by a task to create the portal using which it is possible to extend news of the company, to inform personnel on acceptance of new employees, to store, process and control access to internal documentation, to ensure joint work. The resource also should perform functions of technical support Help Desk.
The portal put in operation contains general information which is daily necessary for each user: forms, orders, orders, contacts, the schedule of actions and also different internal documentation of divisions with access restriction. The implemented solution covers nine branches of the company in St. Petersburg and Moscow. AstroSoft is created by specialists functionality for further development of a corporate resource: the customer is going to place news information, a photoarchive of the company, the video instruction on the portal, and in the future on its base to create the system of distance learning of employees.
Pilot testing showed that the portal is convenient and simple in use. Today more than hundred people use it: the main personnel of the company from ordinary managers to the management. The intuitive interface helps users to work with documents and lists. After some practice almost all employees mastered management of access rights and creation of new nodes and libraries. From the technical point of view the portal meets such requirements as low cost of ownership, convenience of administration and a possibility of receiving support of vendor.
"The purpose of implementation of a corporate portal was increase in the involvement of employees into decision making process and discussions of innovations, increase in knowledge of internal life of firm", - the head of department of implementation of Piterra company Maxim Karankevich says. – "From the utilitarian point of view a number of routine procedures, such as giving of requests for technical support, order of office and search of different documents will be automated. We are sure that the resource will become one of the main management tools and effective interaction of employees soon".
