"M2M Telematics Ryazan", the regional partner of M2M Telematics Group, together with the Ryazan highest airborne command school of V.F. Margelov was tested by possibilities of GLONASS technologies for increase in mobility and traffic safety of automotive and armored vehicles.
Reliability assessment of operation of the equipment of GLONASS and perspective of its adaptation to work on military equipment became a problem of testing. The relevance of researches, first of all, was caused by need of increase in speed and mobility of army transport and cars and also security of the movement, especially in the conditions of limited visibility.
During tests the navigation and coherent equipment equipped different types of military equipment, including wheel track laying vehicles - UAZ, KAMAZ, Ural and the airborne fighting vehicles (AFV).
Within the first test phase the efficiency of functioning of the navigation and coherent equipment in the mode of the single movement of vehicles was estimated. Researches showed high efficiency of operation of exchange telematic service stations on airborne fighting vehicles at commission of educational marches. In particular, determination of optimal frequency of receiving navigation signals by the user in 30-45 seconds became one of results of testing.
At the second stage the equipment of GLONASS was checked in the mode of the movement of automotive and armored vehicles as a part of columns. Use of regular algorithms and programs of work of terminals, in combination with managing operations of the manager, allowed to increase the average speed of the movement of a column of machines by 10-12%. It is supposed that at adjustment of the software according to the recommendations developed by the Ryazan airborne school and an algorithm for the mode of the movement "Kolonna", the average speed of the movement of a column of machines will increase by 15-20%.
According to the teacher of school, Candidate of Technical Sciences, the lieutenant colonel Vasily Elistratov, tested showed that telematic GLX Pro M2M-Cyber terminals can effectively be operated on military equipment of transport and educational group of operation and after additional certification by the Head autoarmoured department of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation their admission to application on military equipment is possible.
"Further it is going to carry out some more stages of pilot and theoretical studies which results and outputs, together with recommendations and offers, will be sent to the Head autoarmoured department as justification of need of use of the equipment of GLONASS on the army equipment", - the deputy chief of school colonel Sergey Bezrukov said.
The chief executive of M2M Telematics Group Alexey Smyatskikh also added that the company pays much attention to testing of the equipment in special operating conditions and to a research of opportunities of use of GLONASS technologies for different types of the equipment. "The results received during tests will be used by the company at upgrade existing and development of new navigation equipment, including, and for special consumers", - he noted.
