Primsotsbank reduces risks and cuts down expenses on licensing of software

On March 13, 2014 the Comparex company announced conclusion of an agreement with social commercial bank of Primorye Primsotsbank about delivery of the software of Microsoft according to the program of corporate licensing Enterprise Agreement (EA).

Specifics of business and geographical distribution of a branch network of bank caused lack of a single system of licensing.

Before the IT management of bank there was a task - to lower initial costs on licensing by carrying out standardization of the software and simplification of process of management of licenses.

The management of Primsotsbank made the decision to simplify the scheme of licensing, to systematize the software of Microsoft, to minimize expenses and legal risks. For this purpose it was required to sign the three-year agreement of Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (EA). As service provider selected Comparex company.

Project Progress

Within agreements the EA company licenses basic products of Microsoft for all used PCs, at the same time payment is made in the form of annual payments. Licenses are purchased in permanent use with the right of licensing of additional products. During operation of the agreement the packet of additional free services according to the Software Assurance program – training in the certified training centers, technical support of server products, the right to use Office on the home PC, a subscription to TechNet Plus and many other things is provided to the customer.

One of advantages – simplification of the scheme of licensing and reduction of risk of use of the non-licensed software.

During operation of the signed agreement of Enterprise Agreement of JSC SKB of Primorye Primsotsbank has the right to use licensed products on all computers in the organization, including the new computers added after agreement signature. At the same time on all PC park the Microsoft platform is used as the corporate standard that leads to reducing costs for training and user support and also to increase in controllability and security of IT infrastructure.

As a result of the carried-out work Primsotsbank simplified the scheme of licensing, minimized expenses on acquisition and use of software.
