The car operator began assembling Chinese Kaiyi machines after an investment of 100 million rubles

On January 30, 2023, Avtotor"" announced the launch of a Chinese-made car at its plant. Kaiyi The first model of the brand, which will be presented for the first time on the Russian market, was the E5 sedan.

According to the press service of Avtotor, the production of cars is carried out on a modernized conveyor. To prepare the production, more than 200 names of robotic equipment were reconfigured and reprogrammed, an electronic tool was purchased, new software for electronic system testing benches was introduced, and automated conveyor elements were set up and adjusted.

Avtotor's investments in the modernization of the production line for the production of Kaiyi E5 cars exceeded 100 million rubles. Pilot production was carried out from December 2022 to January 2023.

At the initial stage, the production of Chinese brand products at the Avtotor plant is carried out in industrial assembly mode on the basis of a welded and painted body with partial localization of first-level components. In the future, a transition to a full production cycle is envisaged.

The joint project provides for the use of local components with a phased increase in the localization level. Plans have been developed to localize each brand model, providing for specific terms, conditions and obligations of the parties. Further prospects for expanding cooperation are related to projects for the production of electric vehicles, as well as other cars on alternative fuels, the Russian company noted.

The Kaiyi E5 model is scheduled to start selling in the first quarter of 2023. By the end of 2023, it is planned to enter the Russian market of three more models of this Chinese brand.^[1]
