Avtotor began assembling Chinese crossovers of the SWM brand, and a cooperation agreement was signed with Shineray. The Kaliningrad Automobile Plant announced this on April 14, 2023.
The Avtotor conveyor has launched the assembly of three models of SWM crossovers: mid-size G01, urban G01F and full-size SWM G05 Pro. It is noted that, provided that the economic efficiency indicators of the project are achieved, the parties plan to expand cooperation, including the development of a plan to increase production capacity for the production of SWM cars and ensure appropriate investments. Upon reaching the required production volume, it is planned to deepen the technology and gradually switch to the production of SWM cars in a full cycle - welding, painting, assembly, the Russian company added.
Autotor and Shineray also intend to develop a production development plan until 2032, which will include an estimated estimate of estimated investments at each stage of the project in the period 2025-2032.
It is important to note that our joint work on promising development is built taking into account the development priorities of the Russian automotive industry and provides not only the creation of local production of SWM cars at the facilities of our enterprise, but also the deepening of technology, a phased increase in the level of localization of production, "said Valery Gorbunov, chairman of the board of directors of Avtotor Holding, through the press service. |
Shineray President Zhou Giangwen, whose words are also quoted in the message, noted that for the group "the Russian market is one of the most important foreign strategic markets."
In the context of deepening Sino-Russian friendship, we see a huge market potential, as well as the possibility of long-term development of cooperation between SWM and the world's largest contract manufacturer Avtotor. At the same time, we are ready for market challenges, constantly improving our products so that they better meet the needs of Russian consumers, "he said.[1] |
