US Army buys $1.6 billion worth of IT equipment and software

In mid-November 2021, the US Army announced the purchase of commercial software, IT equipment and related additional services. The contract for $1.6 billion involves cooperation with 17 companies.

In total, the US Army received 50 offers to participate in the supply of fixed-price IT equipment. Suppliers competed for orders to supply information technology products and related services to the US Army, the US Department of Defense, and other federal government customers. Contract work is expected to last until August 22, 2023.

In addition, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services has a contract to provide legal services to federal agencies. CACI receives funding for the development of the Integrated Personnel and Remuneration System (IPPS-A). SOUNDPerformance has a contract worth $73 million, 2 million for engineering change initiatives in support of the Bradley combat vehicle. Work on this project will be carried out in Plymouth (Michigan), with an estimated completion date of March 20, 2024. Austal USA received a contract for urgent repairs and continuous maintenance of coastal warships deployed in the Western Pacific Ocean, as well as in the Indian Ocean. Boeing received a contract worth no more than $49, 677 million for the production of drones, as well as support for the integration of the program for their operation.[1][2]
