Beltelekom implements the VKS system

On June 19, 2014 the Avaya company announced equipment of the national operator of Republic of Belarus to RUP "Beltelkom" the VKS system on the Avaya Scopia platform. The contractor in the project Mobile Service company.

Project Tasks

In 2012 the company decided to upgrade the VKS system to fill up a service package for users.

It was going to provide:

• interaction of participants using several types of traffic, including audio, video and data transmission;
• reliable and high-quality voice and video conference;
• additional services of a conference, such as interactive white board, presentation of documents, file transfer, sharing of applications/desktop, synchronized web browsing, a conference in a conference;
• the centralized control system, processings and error analysis, detection of failures and failures of network and terminal devices, determination of the reasons of failures and decision making on maintenance;
• the centralized subsystem of sound recording and video in the manual and automatic modes with stream broadcast of video in real time or in record on the Internet;
• participation in video conference in voice regime of subscribers of the PSTN (public telephone network).

Project Results

The contractor developed Mobile service and implemented the complete solution based on the VKS system Avaya Scopia. As a core of the VKS system 4 Radvision MCU Elite 5230 servers with the license increased capacity, total power up to 480 ports are used.

The management system is unrolled on a failover cluster from two iView servers. The control and management system of registration of terminals and software clients is redundant. iView allows to organize virtual portals for subscribers with reservation on a temporary or permanent basis of the VKS resources, creating corporate directories, lists of presence is exclusive for each organization.

For software clients 4 Scopia Desktop servers, with a capacity of 125 calls everyone are used, all servers work through the balancer of loading that provides uniform loading of servers and actually integrates all 4 servers, providing the general port capacity in 500 subscribers.

Scopia Desktop Server gives the chance to connect to video conference of subscribers with the PC, mobile phones, tablets, provides record and stream broadcast of active conferences. For meeting rooms and the organization exit VKS is used 20 Scopia XT1200 terminals. Connection of external subscribers from the Internet is performed via the Pathfinder server. The scheme is constructed according to the recommendations of engineers of Avaya and meets all requirements for fault tolerance and scalability.

For June 19, 2014 more than 4 thousand meetings, lasting more than 200 thousand minutes, or are held 138 complete days. 23 organizations having on average up to 20 active subscribers use a system.
