2019: Implementation of automatic document recognition in the execution of policies

On September 13, 2019, Smart Engines announced that in July 2019, Renaissance Life introduced Smart IDReader document recognition technology. Now, by issuing an insurance policy through the site, instead of manually entering passport data, you can upload a photo or scan of the document. All fields are filled in automatically, you just need to confirm their correctness.

Renaissance Life is actively developing its digital infrastructure. A lot of work is underway to build a new IT architecture of the company based on microservices. The main goal is to move the entire information system to the cloud. As of September 2019, 10 microservices operate within the company, such as Print, Send, Pay, etc. They automate operations, reduce time spent on basic tasks, and minimize system failures. The introduction of Smart IDReader is another step in this development vector.

Previously, entering passport data took about 2 minutes. Now - no more than 2 seconds. At the same time, the recognition accuracy is more than 95%. The fields are automatically filled in the insurance contract, reducing the time it takes to draw up and reducing the number of errors in manual data entry.

Also, this technology simplifies the operation of B2B channels. She accelerated the process of issuing insurance contracts for bank employees. Now they just need to upload a photo of the document, and the program will independently fill in the client's data.

We have implemented a solution that speeds up the process of applying for policies. So far, this technology is used within one of our products - "Quality of Life," but in the near future it will be used in all products of the company. This greatly simplifies the workflow not only for our agents, but also for partners and customers themselves - they will be able to use this technology in all cases when it is necessary to enter their passport data on the company's website,
