January 12, 2017 JSCB RosEuroBank announced the creation of a remote customer identification system based on blockchain technology from. Microsoft The new solution will allow you to use the services of other banks without physically visiting their branches.
The prototype system developed by RosEuroBank will help remotely identify customers for other credit institutions. Thanks to the decentralized system, the user only needs to request the service of another bank through the application, of which he is not a client, and banks using blockchain technology will independently identify. Thus, access to a large number of banking services is realized according to the "single window" principle.
The project is built on the Ethereum blockchain platform and uses the Microsoft Ethereum Consortium Blockchain infrastructure, which is part of the Azure Blockchain as a Service solution.
The announced system of remote identification of customers uses the principle of interoperability of the systems of a consortium of banks interested in creating a new model of distribution of banking services. This principle assumes that banks have products or systems with open interfaces, ensuring interaction and operation with the same technologies of other banks without any restrictions.
The solution we are developing is the first step towards the formation of an alternative decentralized system of interbank data exchange, based on innovative technologies. Such a system will have all the advantages of blockchain technology: efficiency, transparency, resiliency and security. To implement the pilot of the project, we have already invited other banks interested in joint testing, - said Alexander Vasiliev, Deputy Director of the IT Department for Innovations at RosEuroBank. |
The new system will undergo pilot tests during the first quarter of 2017, after which it is planned to begin commercial operation of the product.
