Rosatom began to perform inspections of the enterprises in virtual reality

In the middle of October, 2020 it became known of the beginning of conducting inspections of the enterprises of Rosatom in virtual reality. The technology was implemented in the Volgodonsk branch of AEM-tekhnologii company (enters a machine-building division of Rosatom state corporation — Atomenergomash) with the assistance of Tsifrum company.

Within pilot use of VR technology the staff of the plant in the remote mode carried out incoming inspection of procurements of bends of the main circulating pipeline. Specialists of technical directorate showed drawings, marking, parameters of procurements to the host party in the mode of augmented reality. Actions of the quality inspector were transferred to computers of participants of remote testing and provided a feedback.

Rosatom was positive for the results achieved during testing of a set of the equipment and the software for the organization of remote interaction and working off of the scenario of holding a remote procedure of incoming inspection of the equipment for the NPP and also highly appreciated the potential of development of these tools in terms of increase in efficiency of process, reduction of time of course of process and economy of the spent means.

The state corporation noted that development and implementation of this system is offered to be conducted as in the direction of business process optimization of different control actions, regarding their adaptation for a possibility of their carrying out in the remote mode, and in the field of optimization of technical, technology and program components.

We appreciated a digital product which allows to reduce many times costs at stages of acceptance of procurements and the equipment by customers. Our colleagues from the block on digitalization of Rosatom state corporation will complete the works on testing in the nearest future, and we will fully be able to apply these complexes on production — the CIO of JSC AEM-tekhnologii Oleg Apanasik noted.[1]
