Rostelecom created a corporate data network for Rosenergoatom

2019: Creation of a corporate data network

On October 21, 2019 Rostelecom reported that it completed the project on creation of a corporate data network for JSC Rosenergoatom Concern (enters into ROSATOM State Corporation), which integrated nine nuclear power stations in Northwest, Central, Volga region, Southern and Ural federal districts.

According to requirements of the customer, for reliability assurance and fault tolerance Rostelecom provided 100 percent reservation of data transmission channels along geographically spaced routes throughout network.

This project allowed Rosenergoatom Concern on average by 2.5 times to increase capacity of data transmission channels to nuclear power stations, and at the same time almost twice to cut down expenses on them. Successful implementation of this project will allow to solve not only the current problems, but also is the base for development of digital products of Concern,

To the high level of reliability of nuclear power of the country there should correspond fully data transmission infrastructure. For Rostelecom the status of the uniform operator of a data network of the NPP of Rosenergoatom Concern is an important and responsible task. We created the selected corporate network with the high level of reliability which will help to manage a system and will become an infrastructure basis for development of digital projects of the customer, emphasized the director of work with corporate customers of Rostelecom Alexey Podryabinnikov

Rosatom state corporations, JSC Rosenergoatom Concern and PJSC Rostelecom are strategic partners for many years. The companies sign the Memorandum of cooperation for the purpose of development digital economy of the Russian Federation and also the Agreement on cooperation concerning counteraction computer to the attacks for exchange information, with technologies and skills for joint protection of networks of the companies from harmful SOFTWARE and cyber attacks. In the summer of 2019 start of a complex data centers in the city of Udomlya Tver region (near the Kalinin NPP) which has the high level of protection took place: in the first stage belongs to Rostelecom 4,000 with firmness - places, to Rosenergoatom — 800.
