Rosseti bought smart power meters for 1 billion rubles

On August 11, 2020 it became known that Rosseti bought smart power meters for the amount of 982 million rubles. The equipment in number of more than 75 thousand pieces to 14 regions was supplied by Avtomatika concern of Rostec state corporation.

The Signal scientific and production enterprise according to the results of tender to complex delivery of devices transferred to regions 6844 cabinets of accounting, 40 thousand metering devices and 30 thousand current transformers. Devices are installed, in particular, in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kostroma, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod and Yaroslavl regions.

Our products guarantee reliability and convenience of operation of infrastructure both to suppliers, and to consumers of the electric power. Devices provide "smart" electricity metering, allow to control work of networks in the remote mode and to warn emergency situations. We continue to equip regions with a hi-tech utilities equipment, we expand geography of deliveries — the CEO of Avtomatika concern  Vladimir Kabanov said.

According to him, the first lot of products is delivered to the Urals, in plans – the Northwest and Siberia. The financial support in implementation of the project, strategically important for digitalization of Rosseti, is given by Novikombank, he reported.

In July, 2020 in Russia became effective the law assuming gradation from the existing metering devices on new smart power meters. The priority in installation of "smart" devices is given to consumers at whom metering devices are absent, are faulty, developed the resource or require checking (since normative term approached). In other cases it is possible to use the available counter, up to emergence of the bases for its replacement.

The network companies will be obliged install at consumers who had bases for replacement of the counter only intelligent metering devices since January 1, 2022.[1]
