Rostelecom has tested AR glasses and Russian IKSAR software for use in a commercial service. Inline Group (Inline Group) announced this on March 6, 2024.

AR technologies open up prospects for remote maintenance, allow technicians to see virtual objects and instructions in real time through special glasses, establish communication with remote experts, reducing the time required to complete tasks. Combining AR with IKSAR software enables Rostelecom employees to carry out maintenance and repair work with high accuracy even remotely.

On February 13, 2024, Rostelecom employees from the direction of development of innovative infrastructure services DPiRIS tested AR glasses for one of the large customers. The testing process included scheduled maintenance work on the client's equipment installed at the Rostelecom site.

As part of the testing, specialists checked the operability of the network and supply equipment, as well as the conditions for placing and providing resources.

An important part of the process was also to ensure security and minimize potential risks to the customer's system and data. In the event of any problems or inconsistencies, fixation was carried out, communication with a remote expert and additional corrective actions were carried out.

Thus, the process was aimed at ensuring the stable operation of the client's equipment and the safe functioning of the network as a whole. During testing of AR glasses and IKSAR software, Rostelecom confirmed their effectiveness and promise for use in a commercial service.
