RusHydro chose a contractor to modernize the data center, rejecting the applications of 8 integrators

In mid-December 2016, RusHydro Energy Holding selected a contractor to carry out a comprehensive modernization of the data center.[1] The data center is needed for the operation of newly implemented and the development of existing infrastructure services and information systems, including management systems on the SAP ERP platform.
Applications from 11 companies were submitted for the competition with an initial price of 159.6 million rubles. According to the envelope opening protocol of November 18, 2016, the applicants for the conclusion of the contract included Korus AX, SiTek, Softline Projects, Integris, STK Development, Universal Technologies, Ural Integration, Trinities, Astronis, Tegrus Company and. The spread of price proposals among the main part of the applications was small - from 156 to 159 million rubles. Against this background, the application of STK Development stood out, which estimated the performance of work at 140 million rubles (a decrease of more than 12 %).
However, after considering all the proposals, the RusHydro tender commission rejected 8 applications, and only Universal Technologies, Softline Projects and SiTech allowed to participate in the final stage of the competition. Among these participants, a retorting procedure was carried out, during which Universal Technologies (139.3 million rubles) offered the best conditions. She was declared the winner.
It is expected that the modernization of the data center will allow RusHydro to improve the quality of IT services and reduce the cost of operating the IT infrastructure as a whole.
During the project implementation, it is envisaged to develop solutions that ensure fault tolerance and increase the reliability of the data center. The creation of the best service level tools for infrastructure services and information system applications is required. In addition, the contractor will have to provide the necessary reserve of computing capacity and storage resources for the development of the data center in the future. The need to provide SAP ERP management information systems with computing capacity that meets the requirements of the project is specified separately.
The object of the modernization is IT equipment and software located at three data center sites in Moscow, which form a single IT infrastructure that ensures the functioning of infrastructure services and information systems of the company.

The target data center infrastructure should operate in a mode of 24 hours 7 days a week (24 hours a day), with multi-level fault tolerance, where each component of the system is duplicated at both the hardware and software levels.
Earlier, the modernization of the data center at RusHydro was carried out by Asteros. In 2012, the company's specialists updated the virtual platform based on VMware vSphere 5.0, expanded the data center capacity with four additional HP DL980 servers. In addition, Asteros experts increased the disk space of the HP XP24000 storage system, designed and deployed backup technology under the control of the HP Data Protector software complex .
The implementation of a single automated system based on SAP ERP in RusHydro was carried out by Technoserv. The company won the corresponding tender in the amount of more than 1.5 billion rubles at the end of 2013.
