On December 31, 2012 in Russian CEC the presentation of new information center took place. The head of the Federal center of informatization at Russian CEC Mikhail Popov provided his technological capabilities. For the equipment of the information center the most modern equipment spends about 100 million rubles. According to Popov, the last technical limits for information input volumes are lifted.
In the information center the huge screen consisting of 21 video walls and also five screens of a smaller format which allow to monitor a voting process and summing up elections both in local and regional scale, and at the federal level is installed. Special conditions are created for work of electronic media. The CEC claim what in Europe of a similar system does not exist today anywhere.
According to the head of the CEC Vladimir Churov, the uniform voting day will become on September 8, 2013 the first test for the information center.
