The Russian Railway buys the Russian servers on one and a half billion

On July 1, 2019 it became known that the company "Russian Railways" will buy (Russian Railway) domestic servers Yadro and services in their installation for the amount of 1.565 billion rubles. Their delivery according to the results of ended tender will be performed Moscow by the company "Krastk". At the starting price of lot of 1.575 billion rubles decrease in its request was 9.4 million rubles.

According to CNews, two unnamed companies in public documents tried to compete with Krastky. Their requests were rejected by a tender committee. At one of applicants in the bank guarantee it was not specified that it "is unconditional and irrevocable" (it cannot be withdrawn or changed by the guarantor unilaterally). At other applicant in the provided technical proposal, in particular, the structure of works on installation of servers and a server cabinet was not specified.

Taking into account that Krastky as a result it was the only thing the participant allowed on the tender, formally tender was recognized cancelled, but the agreement will be all the same signed with this company. It is necessary to deliver and install the equipment to it till October 25, 2019.

In the nomenclature of delivery specific names of models of the Yadro servers are specified. And though in the technical project there is a note that the offer of their equivalent is allowed, in CNews assume that "iron" of this brand the winner of competition also offered the Russian Railway.

Despite the aspiration to be bought by the Russian servers, in the tender documentation it is separately stated that the priority for goods of the Russian origin is not set. As consider in CNews, it is made in memory of cancelled server purchase of the Russian Railway with the starting cost of 1.66 billion rubles which was contracted because of the instruction of FAS, recognized preferences for domestic "iron" illegal.

As it appears from the documents posted on the website of state procurements, the Russian Railway 34 P1-50A Yadro servers (16 with the module of memory of DDR4 on 64 GB and 18 with the module on 128 GB) intended to purchase, 16 P1-22A servers, nine P2-22A, two Vesnin Gen1 and also two sets of upgrade of the P1-80 servers of different types and eight server cabinets.

Yadro P1-50A is under construction on 12-core processorakhibm Power8 with a frequency of 3.65 GHz, P1-22A — on 10-core IBM Power8 with a frequency of 3.42 GHz, P2-22A — on 10-core IBM Power9 with a frequency of 2.5 GHz, Vesnin Gen1 — on 11-core IBM Power8 with a frequency of 2.93 GHz.^[1]
