"The Russian sea" controls distributors using the system of complex analytics Navicon

On March 1, 2018 the company Navicon announced completion of connection of distributors of the company "Russian sea" to the system of complex analytics Navicon FMCG Trade Data Consolidation (TDC). Cloud the solution on platforms Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SQL Server completely automates processes of collecting, cleaning and systematization of data on secondary sales and a remaining balance in warehouses from most of distributors of the FMCG manufacturing in the territory Russia.

"The Russian sea" — one of FMCG manufacturing in Russia. The company sells products through an extensive network of partners in the whole country: in particular, through federal and regional distributors. Long time work with them was conducted in the manual mode because of what reports on secondary sales through partners could be delayed or contain errors.

According to the results of a test stage during which Navicon automated data exchange between office of "The Russian sea" and one of his partners the decision on transition of all distributors of the FMCG manufacturing to the Navicon FMCG TDC system (the former Sales Out) Cloud was made.

The functionality of the solution Navicon FMCG TDC allows "normalize" data from different sources – the internal accounting systems of distributors. Data from local IT systems of partners on a regular basis are collected in the centralized storage of "The Russian sea", undergoing at the same time cleaning process: information is provided to a uniform format, duplications and spelling errors of the addresses and names of partners are excluded.

"After implementation of a pilot project the quality of the reports received by us from distributors significantly increased: for example, a system will automatically recognize more than 70% of the addresses of retail outlets on a federal address database, so, can compare the addresses from reports with the FIAS standard and eliminate duplication of data. Duration of the procedure of check and approval of data on secondary sales and also the handmade number of analysts of the company was reduced – a system performs more than 80% of works automatically. There was an opportunity to help distributors with management of stock balance that increased turnover of a remaining balance and their timely replenishment. Therefore we decided to transfer work with all distributors of 'The Russian sea' to the Navicon FMCG TDC system".

The Navicon FMCG TDC Cloud system is unrolled in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment. It allowed the producer to save on installation of IT infrastructure, in comparison with implementation of on-premise of systems and also to reduce terms of scaling of IT solution – all distributors of "The Russian sea" were connected to a cloud in a year.

"Navicon FMCG TDC helps to analyze dynamics of sales in regions, given about products remaining balance in warehouses of distributors and retails, returns to the producer. In addition, it allows to compare these data with the sales plan and to define, cooperation with each specific distributor of the company is how profitable. In other words, a system not only automates processes of consolidation of data, but also contains the analytical mechanism simplifying work of sales departments and marketing, commercial and financial departments".

In the long term "The Russian sea" is going to develop analytics in the Navicon FMCG TDC Cloud system.
