Customers: SDEK - Express Courier Delivery Service

Moscow; Logistics and Distribution

Project date: 2022/08

On August 17, 2022, SDEK announced the launch of a solar power plant on the roof of its warehouse in the Krasnodar Territory. The corresponding equipment was supplied by Hevel.

The projected output of a solar power plant with a capacity of 20 kW exceeds 25 thousand kWh per year. This project, according to SDEK calculations, will annually reduce electricity costs by 225 thousand rubles. and reduce SO2 emissions by more than 8000 tons.

SDEK launched its solar power plant

As noted in SDEK, it is easier for logistics companies to invest in green technologies, since the roofs of their warehouses are often not involved in any production processes. It is this area that can be used in the production of solar energy, which means saving on consumed resources.

For SDEK, equipping one of the warehouses with a solar power plant is another step in the company's eco-agenda. Earlier, the courier service launched a large-scale eco-program, which includes several classic and non-standard projects.

In particular, SDEK reduced the consumption of air-bubble and stretch films from primary raw materials. Instead, cardboard fillers, maculature paper are used. The company abandoned polypropylene bags and color printing, as well as wooden pallets in favor of multi-turn containers. In addition, SDEK, together with 99recycle, initiated the creation of eco-sprinklers from recycled PET packaging.

This year we plan to continue to actively move towards conscious consumption and saving natural resources. The installation of a solar power plant will allow us not only to save on the costs associated with the maintenance of the warehouse, but also to promote the environmental agenda among customers and partners of SDEK, "said Anna Jospa, PR Director of SDEK.
