Content

The Sinto company announced on October 30, 2017 implementation of a cluster of Lenovo NeXtScale in "SMNG-center" for accomplishment of high-performance computing.

Project Tasks

Implementation of a computing cluster with high rates of efficiency in the high-loaded systems became a project task.

Choosing a Solution

At a stage of study of technical specifications, in addition to key solution specifications, such as high performance, flexible architecture, etc., there was surely a requirement dictated from the outside — the maximum energy efficiency of the solution. It is caused by restrictions of the selected electric power from the supplier of power services.

For solving of tasks of the project the solution Lenovo NeXtScale System became optimal: the Lenovo NeXtScale n1200 chassis with the computing notes of Lenovo NeXtScale nx360 M5 set in it.

Project Results

As a result of implementation in "SMNG-center" of a cluster Lenovo it was possible:

  • by 30% to reduce overall runtime of critical tasks, including such as temporary migration to summing on Kirchhoff's algorithm, regularization of seismic data, hight-resolution radon demultiple;
  • reduce the number of iterations on a full stroke of digital processing at the expense of the increased amount of RAM by a core;
  • integrate a cluster into the existing customer's IT infrastructure without significant increase in indicators of energy consumption.

Not all companies go on conditions of long payment by installments of payment that is competitive advantage for Sinto company. On behalf of SMNG-Centre company I express gratitude for accurate accomplishment of delivery dates of the equipment and extremely correct relation to payment delay problems. We hope for effective cooperation further — Alexander Kreyvis, the chief engineer of Department of processing and interpretation of "SMNG-center" said.
