In the Oil Company of Azerbaijan SAP implementation of UOM begins

In January, 2016 SAP announced the beginning of the project on implementation by specialists of SAP Service and Support of the complete solution of SAP for management of production based on the SAP solution UOM (Upstream Operations Management is management of oil-extracting production). The solution is designed to reduce losses in production processes and production and also to reduce risks of such losses by 80% due to increase in transparency and efficiency of the obtained information, formation of the uniform reporting and analytics.

SOCAR, state oil company of the Azerbaijan Republic, are included into 50 largest participants of the world oil and gas market and constantly increases potential in all spheres of the activity: production, processing, transportation and retail sales of oil, gas and petrochemical products. SOCAR — one of the first big customers of SAP CIS in Azerbaijan: within large-scale transformation of key business processes in 2008 SOCAR began implementation of the complex of SAP solutions which became a single managerial platform of the company.

The SAP solution UOM will be implemented in central office of SOCAR and in 9 oil and gas production departments, as in Azerbaijan, and abroad, making use of global experience and examination of specialists of SAP Service and Support. According to preliminary estimates, thanks to SAP implementation of UOM oil and gas production will become more predicted, losses in the course of extraction and production and will be reduced by 80% — risks of such losses. Before implementing solution on management of production of SAP UOM more than 50% of information were told by phone, given about measurements and the actual volumes of production were fixed only in paper documents. On preparation of reports from 10 to 30 days left. There was no opportunity to build a uniform picture of processes of production and diagrams of repair, to receive the history of actions on each well.
