Samsung Electronics automated the logistic center

The Samsung Electronics company completed the large project of automation of the logistic center Samsung Russian Distribution Center. The child IT company Samsung SDS Co was engaged in general management of the project. The Korean company EXE c&t Co was responsible for development and deployment of a management system for the yard (YMS), Visibility-systems, the integration platform, system implementation of management of the warehouse Manhattan Associates WMOS, performed the general logistic consulting. The Corus Consulting company participated in creation of design of the Manhattan Associates WMOS system, setup, testing, training of administrators, key users, development of reports.

Corus Consulting joined the global project of Samsung in July, 2008 on initial stage of system engineering. The design of a system and development of documents on functional design were executed by specialists of the Japanese office Manhattan Associates. In parallel with design of a system there was a design of a warehouse which building began also summer of 2008. Approximately at the same time work on design of a management system for the yard (YMS), requirements gathering for the integration platform began.

Initial setup of the Manhattan Associates WMOS system, design of the integration platform, development of the system of management of the yard were manufactured in Korea within 6 weeks since the beginning of August, 2008. Then all works were continued in Moscow.

In the middle of December of work on automation of a warehouse were conducted directly at the Russian factory Samsung Electronics. During this period training of end users, documentation of basic processes between the WMS system and a managing ERP system of SAP, testing of WMS, testing of interfaces, system testing of management of the yard (YMS), development of reports continued. After carrying out control procedure of quality of Quality Assurance which was executed by the Korean experts of one of divisions of the company the warehouse was brought into operation.

Corus Consulting took part in process automation of acceptance, placement, replenishment in cells of selection, piece selection and selection by the whole pallets from store cells, accomplishment of integration of WMOS with SAP, a management system for YMS yard, the Visibility system.
