The east Siberian Sberbank branch implements a management system for a network attached storage

The I-Teco company completed the key project in the field of system management of data storage in the East Siberian bank of Sberbank of Russia.

Background

The necessity in project implementation was caused by rapid growth of volume and complexity of storage area networks and also telecommunication infrastructure of bank.

Addition

"Being the largest player of the banking sector in the region, we pay much attention to questions of high-quality providing services and ensuring safety of data. Without implementation of modern management tools it cannot be made. Therefore we made the decision on start at once of two independent projects which were integrated by a common goal: increase in level of availability and quality of information services at simultaneous cutting of costs for the maintenance of difficult network infrastructure of bank", – Igor Surgutanov, the director of management of technical means and telecommunications of the East Siberian bank of Sberbank of Russia notes.

Solution

The new management system for a storage system allows minimize the risks connected with loss of information and speed of data recovery. The management tool implemented by I-Teco is deployed based on the software product of HP Storage Essentials – the unified platform for control of heterogeneous storage area networks, including control of servers and data storage devices.

Result

A system allows to manage effectively resources of bank and to increase utilization more than 30 servers, about 70 switches and four storage systems in total capacitance from above the 150th terabyte. Therefore not only improvement of all management processes and administration of DWH, but also in general increase in efficiency of use of storage device subsystems became result of this project that increased effect of implementation and reduced time of return of the enclosed investments.
