Sberbank was bought by servers almost for 5 billion rubles

Sberbank buys the server hardware for Central office and territorial banks. According to the results of the tender which results were summed up on December 12, 2016 costs of the customer were reduced approximately by 800 million rubles from 5.6 to 4.8 billion rubles^[1].

In total 10 applications from 5 companies were submitted for the tender (on 2 requests for each lot). In particular, offers arrived from the companies "Importelekom", "O-Si-Es-Centre", "Aquarius PC", "Marvel KT" and "Huawei technical companies". However the request "Marvel KT" did not reach final assessment.

On each lot the tender committee estimated total cost of ownership of a standard configuration of the server for 5 years. The best terms on the server hardware in rack-execution were offered by Huawei Technical company, in blade-execution - Importelekom. These companies were also recognized winners.

The amount of the general agreement with Huawei Technical company was $54.3 million (~ 3.3 billion rubles), about Importelekom - $23.8 million (~ 1.5 billion rubles). The term of agreements – 1.5 years.

Within the first lot Sberbank is going to receive the 2nd and 4kh-socket rack-servers mounted in a rack and also racks for servers. The second lot means delivery of the 2nd and 4kh-socket blade servers and a rack for them.

The supplied server hardware should be certified on compatibility with OS Windows Server 2008R2 Windows Server 2012R2, VMware vSphere 5.5, RHEL 6.x, 6.1, 6.4, 6.5, 6.7, 6.8, 7.1, 7.2 and Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS.

All models of servers should be equipped with reserve power capabilities with hot swap and reserve fans with hot swap. In case of failure of components or their replacement a system should be recovered or return to a dosboyny status automatically without manual intervention (for example, automatic transition to Spare and back).

Servers should be based on processors Intel Xeon E5 and E7, to have from 512 to 1024 GB of RAM, hard drives from 600 GB to 6 TB.

In addition to supplies of equipment the list of works on the agreement includes installation, setup services and maintenance services warranty period.
