Rosatom will print on the 3D-printer implants for a backbone

Customers: Science and innovations, joint-stock company

Product: The 3D projects are printings

Project date: 2020/06  - 2021/08
Project's budget: 12 255 000 руб.

2020: Plans of printing on the 3D-printer of implants for a backbone

Production of metal complexes (keydzhy) for spinal surgery will be started based on Rosatom corporation, it became known on July 23, 2020.

Трёхмерный биопринтер, разработанный российской компанией 3D Bioprinting Solutions, capable to print live bodies.

The fixing keydzh are the most demanded parts in backbone neurosurgery. At instability of vertebras (including because of injuries) there is their shift that leads to pinching of a nerve and pain. There can be even a sliding of vertebras  — spondilolistez.

For fixing of excessively mobile vertebras special devices  — keydzh are used. Specialists from Rostatom's division "Science and innovations" are going to arrange production of similar implants.

The term of the announced competition on development of a documentation package and production of trial consignment keydzhy  — 13 months. The amount selected for the project is  12 million 255 thousand rubles.

In technical specifications of tender it is stipulated that keydzh and tools for their installation can be made, "including, method of the selection laser melting (SLM) based on additive technologies".

The additive technology  is a method of layer-by-layer building of the produced subject. In particular, in recent years distribution was gained by the so-called the selection laser melting (SLM)  — a technique of layer-by-layer additive manufacturing using the laser (3D-printers)[1].
